In July 2022, our monthly Afternoon Tea service returned to The Whittaker Inn. Join us as Chef Andrew pays tribute to his roots with this timeless English tradition. You will enjoy finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream and jam, followed by an assortment of homemade sweet treats prepared by our Sweets Specialist Pam. Of course it wouldn't be an afternoon tea without the tea. Each guest will have a personal tea pot and can choose from a variety of Harney & Sons looseleaf teas handpicked by Chef Andrew. As intimate events are our specialty at The Whittaker our teas are limited to 25 guests. Seats go fast so don't wait too long to get your family and friends together. The cost is $30.00 per person plus tax and gratuity. A minimum of 14 day notice is required to host any private afternoon tea events, and the venue space is subject to availability. The Story Behind The Whittaker Inn Afternoon Tea Experience

When The Whittaker Inn event offerings were initially being discussed, the idea of hosting afternoon tea events was an easy decision. Andrew, Co-Owner and Chef at The Whittaker Inn, was born and raised in the small village of Nonington, England. The Afternoon Tea Experience is a special way to pay tribute to Andrew's English heritage, while bringing a unique experience to the Greater Lafayette community. All details are tailor made to be as close to an English afternoon tea as possible, along with the addition of our own Whittaker special touches. From the mismatched, personalized tea cups, to the classic English Tea menu that is served; all elements of the Afternoon Tea were specifically thought out to give guests a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable experience with family and friends.
